Perfect for 8 megapixel cameras!
21 May 2010
Large sensor sizes and cameras in the 8 megapixel resolution range require high-resolution lenses which meet the special requirements of this performance range. The anti-shading lenses by Schneider Kreuznach meet these requirements. Their special construction provides an image without sensor shading for image diameters of up to 24mm. Shading occurs if light hits the micro lenses on the sensor at a low angle and, therefore, does not hit the active area of the pixels. The steeper the light output angle on the image side is, the less is the shading effect.
The Xenoplan lenses cover a spectral range from 400 to 700nm or from 700 to 1000nm. Three models are available: SKR KMP APO Xenoplan with focal lengths of 20, 24, 28 and 35mm These three lenses have an aperture of F 2.0. The SKR KMP- IR Xenoplan 50/2.8 model operates with an aperture of F2.8 and a focal length of 50mm and thus complements the 8 megapixel product family of lenses by Schneider Kreuznach.
