Both cameras are fitted with larger sensors than the previous JAI 3-CCD-RGB models (1/2" or 1/1.8" sensors) and result in higher resolution. The AT-140 GE is based on a 1/2" Sony ICX267AL-CCD sensor and offers the user 1392 x 1040 pixels at a frame rate of up to 20 images per second. Using a 1/1.8" Sony-CCD sensor type ICX274AL, the fellow model AT-200 GE provides 1628 x 1236 pixels and a frame rate of 15 full images per second. Both models comply with the GenICam Standard Feature Naming Convention (SFNC-Standard). This defines the recommended descriptions and typologies of camera features to promote compatibility.
The two GigE vision cameras are particularly interesting for applications requiring a high degree of colour fidelity. JAI's 3-CCD technology in conjunction with the prism block design provide significantly better results than alternatives using Bayer sensors or other 3-CCD cameras.
Both cameras offer 24 Bit RGB or 30 Bit RGB output formats in serial 32 Bit format. The precise arrangement of sensors and prism block with its hard dichroic coating enable exceptionally accurate colour images. This high degree of colour fidelity is assisted by a colour space calibration feature. Built-in presets allow output of the colour information in sRGB or Adobe RGB formats. Compared to cameras with raw RGB output, the JAI innovations offer significant advantages for applications requiring a high degree of colour fidelity.
According to JAI white balancing is another advantage of the AT-140 GE and AT-200 GE whereby this can be performed manually or automatically with both cameras. A special feature of both cameras is that individual white balancing can be programmed and executed for individual colour channels. This method reduces noise level and provides maximum image quality.
